Moon Cruller

Location: 50 Rose St, Fitzroy, VIC 3065

OK. We know that the inclusion of this bakery is a tad controversial. After all, a cruller isn’t really a doughnut. But it’s a circular, deep-fried pastry – and that’s close enough for us!

The other point that get Moon Culler across the line is that this is the little sister bakery of the revered Lune Croissanterie. So you know you’re in for something truly spectacular on the sweet front.

The menu includes such wonders as a classic Cinnamon Sugar ($6.00) and a startling iced Raspberry ($6.00). And as with Lune, the kitchen likes to surprise customers with monthly limited editions. As I write, March and Easter are approaching, so the team is knocking out a seasonal Hot Cross Cruller ($7.50), as well as a Coconut & Lime ($7.50) option.

If you love a doughnut, but are on the hunt for something a little different, this could be your new favourite bakery.

Summary

I don’t know about you, but something about a delicious, fried doughnut is really appealing right now. A Nutella doughnut, or a fruity doughnut, a doughnut covered in gold… the choice is endless.

We’ve located the 15 best doughnut shops in Melbourne, so picking your next doughnut location will be an easier job. After all, any of the doughnut joints on this list are delicious, and you’ll certainly go back for seconds.
